Dental Stem Cell Scaffolding In the Socket

Dr. Jeremy Mao has published an article in the recent Journal of Dental Research detailing his efforts to grow stem cells in the socket as a tooth replacement therapy and an alternative to dental implants. Very interesting reading! Check out the press release by clicking here.

    Great article on how stem cells may be used for future dental needs. “Dr. Mao’s research is a look into the future of dental medicine” is indeed a true statement. However, it may have more far reaching influence into other areas of organ regeneration than just teeth. The value of stem cells may be the ability to cure many of our deadliest diseases and their role in that potential process is much better understood today. If we can save the stem cells from baby teeth, it would be like receiving a wonderful opportunity at better health as we grow older.
